Thanks for the Memories and Welcome to the CPA for Small Business Website!

Indeed change is normal.

I wanted to let my friends know that our family (aka The Justice League) is heading to the mountains of North Carolina!

In early January, I accepted a tenure-track, assistant accounting professor position at Appalachian State University. We will be moving to Boone, NC over the summer and I start my new job in August.

When I started my job search, my family and I decided to not settle and hold out for the right position. App State is a great cultural fit for me and I’m excited about joining the faculty there.

We’re looking forward to putting down roots in North Carolina. Instead of looking at the mountains we’ll be living in the mountains!

In the last update to this site in 2015. I let you know that  I had graduated from Kennesaw State University with my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in accounting and that I had wound down my practice after accepting a visiting accounting professor position in Colorado.

Though I love my clients and will miss being a part of their lives, I never wanted to be a long-time sole proprietor. This is why I started working on my doctorate in 2012 and  planned on making a career change into academics for quite a while.

On May 15, 2017, I officially closed CPA for Small Business in the State of Tennessee. I will be keeping this site and the email up in the foreseeable future. So please don’t hesitate to email me if you have any questions. There is a Middle Tennessee based CPA who is assuming my practice. So please email me if you need a referral to a good CPA who understands small business owners’ needs. (email sjustice at cpaforsb dot com)

One last thing, Go App State Mountaineers!!!
